Designing the Hex d4: I was never quite satisfied with the d4. The tetrahedron is a terrifying caltrop that doesn't roll well. I never fell in love with the "shard" or the "double wedge". The "crystal" d4 worked ok, but with its rectangular and triangular faces it just wasn't very pretty. After many iterations I came up with a stunning d4 featuring hexagonal and rhombic faces that I call the Hex d4.
Numbering Design: I spent hundreds of hours writing and running programs to balance the number placement on all these dice. For example, my d20 layout is the first ever made with optimally balanced halves! I go much deeper on the Kickstarter page if you are super nerdy about this stuff like I am. I talk about different balancing metrics and why it is actually a bad idea for the opposite sides of a d20 to add to 21. People have called this dice set "mathematically perfect", but I disagree with that. There are many balancing metrics such as half sums, vertex sums, opposite pairs, etc. and prioritizing them is inherently somewhat subjective. However, I think my layouts are the best ever made and I could spend hours telling you why :D
Size: I like my dice a bit bigger. By volume these dice are 40-50% larger than the standard versions. Sets available with either a 23mm d20 or a chonky 31mm d20 and both sizes are also available as singles.

The 6 and the 9: On the standard d20 layout the 6 is next to the 9. Not only that, but because one is written upside down in relation to the other they look identical with nothing to differentiate them except for a period or line. On a d10 it's the same thing! It's a small detail but it always drove me bananas so I fixed it. On these dice you can rest assured that the 6 and the 9 are never next to each other and it will be easier for you to instantly tell which one you rolled.
